International Mother Language Day celebrated at Blooming Buds School Moga

For many people their native language is an important part of their identity. There are many reasons why it is important for children to know their mother tongue well. Mother tongue is also directly related to one’s culture. Many languages ​​are spoken in India and each language has its own culture. Today on the occasion of International Mother Language Day, In Blooming Buds School, a renowned educational institution of the area organised special assembly under the guidance of BBS Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini. In which the students presented charts and articles related to International  Mother Language Day, they said that this day is celebrated every year on February 21 to promote multilingual diversity. Recounting the history of the day, they said that the International Mother Language Day was declared by the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in November 1999. The idea of ​​celebrating International Mother Language Day was the initiative of Bangladesh. The United Nations General Assembly welcomed the declaration of this day in its 2002 resolution. The main purpose of celebrating this day is to promote the preservation and protection of all languages ​​used by the people of the world. Every year this day is based on some theme. This year the theme of International Mother Language Day 2023 is, “Multilingual Education – The need to transform education”. On this occasion, while addressing to the students, school principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani said that it is very important for us to have knowledge of our mother tongue and along with this we should also try to learn other languages. She said that celebrating International Mother Language Day creates awareness about the importance of preserving indigenous and local languages. She said that the school often informs the students about such a special day so that they can increase their knowledge and stay connected with their culture.
