Apna Punjab Foundation Celebrated International Mother Language Day

Every year 15 needy children will be given free coaching – Sanjeev Saini

Apna Punjab Foundation organised an international seminar at Ludhiana on the occasion of International Mother Language Day. Sharing information regarding this seminar, Director Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Davinder Pal Singh Rimpi said that the world famous Punjabi folk singer Sarabjeet Cheema, Prof. Harpal Singh Punnu, Famous novelist Baldev Singh Sadaknama, famous poet Swaranjit Shavi, lyricist Veet Baljit, singer G.S. Peter, writer Paramjit Kaur Pammi. In the seminar, The Chairman of the organisation Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri welcomed all the guests and thanked them for coming to the seminar with respect for mother tongue. International world famous folk singer Sarabjeet Cheema, who arrived as the chief guest on this occasion, shared the moments of struggle in his life and said that he has been living in Canada for 35 years, but there is no difference in his lifestyle and language. Even today they still love their mother tongue Punjabi and culture as much as they used to do before. He performed on the stage by singing his own song ‘Maan Boli’ and the world famous song ‘Rangla Punjab’. Presenting his views during the seminar, eminent novelist Baldev Singh Sadaknama said that it is very important for every human being to remember their mother language. As an example, he said that the parrot keeps speaking the language of others, so it remains a slave in the cage. Then the world famous poet Swaranjit Shavi in ​​his speech mentioned the points to promote the Punjabi language which can be used to raise the status of our mother tongue. On this occasion Prof. Harpal Singh Punnu gave detailed information about the background of Punjabi language and told that this language is thousands of years old and its area is very wide. During this, the Founder & Chairman of Apna Punjab Foundation Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri said that Mission Fateh has been started today by the foundation. He told all the guests who arrived at the seminar that under this Mission Fateh, the talented students who want to prepare for the civil services and military services exams, but due to being economically backward, they are not able to fulfill their dream, the organisation will select 15 such students every year and give them 100 percent scholarship and provide free coaching, so that the representation of Punjab in these services can increase again. After the seminar, world famous lyricist Veet Baljit and singer GS Peter presented a colorful program and paid homage to the mother tongue Punjabi through the folk songs. On this occasion, key personalities like writer Paramjit Kaur Pammi, World Famous Singer Sarabjeet Cheema, Veet Baljit, GS Peter, Ajaib Singh Chatha (Chairman of Jagat Punjabi Sabha), Prof. Harpal Punnu, Baldev Singh Sadaknama, eminent poet Swaranjit Shavi were honoured with a memento.
