In Blooming Buds School, a renowned educational institution of Moga city, under the leadership of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini, students shared information about World Malaria Day during the morning assembly. Various types of charts, slogans etc related to this day were made by the students. While sharing information, they said that World Malaria Day was celebrated for the first time on April 25, 2008. The day is dedicated to raising awareness of global efforts to control and eliminate malaria. Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through the bite of an infected female Anopheles mosquito. The purpose of celebrating it is to focus people’s attention towards the dreaded disease like malaria. Which kills millions of people every year. The theme of World Malaria Day 2023 is “Zero Malaria – Let’s do it together”. This year’s theme highlights the need for collective action to achieve the goal of zero malaria, which is in line with the World Malaria Strategy. It aims to reduce malaria cases and deaths by 90% by 2030. They also mentioned several measures to avoid this epidemic. On this occasion, the school principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani said that the health of the students coming to the school is our responsibility, that’s why fog spray is done every Saturday in every corner of the school and the kindergarten wing is sprayed daily to eliminate this malaria mosquito. She pointed out that the institute has a special arrangement of three to four fog machines. Meanwhile, the students were encouraged to take precautions to prevent it and take care of their health according to the weather, keep their surroundings clean. She said that we should all be aware of this terrible disease so that this disease can be eradicated and we should give our full contribution along with the government. By working together and continuing to invest in effective prevention, diagnosis and treatment, we can reduce the burden of malaria and save lives.
