Blooming Buds School Celebrated ‘Anti Tobacco’ Day

Blooming Buds School, a renowned educational institution in Moga city, today celebrated Anti-Tobacco Day during the morning assembly under the leadership of Group Chairman Mr. Sanjiv Kumar Saini and Chairperson Madam Kamal Saini. During which charts and articles were presented by the students showing the harm caused by using tobacco. Sharing information regarding this, the school students said that every year, on May 31, the World Health Organization and other organizations celebrate the World No Tobacco Day. This annual campaign creates awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use and to avoid using tobacco in any form. He further said that the health of the lungs of people who consume tobacco is affected, diseases ranging from respiratory disease to cancer occur. He said that every year this day is celebrated by the World Health Organization with a special theme. This time the theme is: “Grow Food, not Tobacco.” According to the World Health Organization, the need for food in the whole world is more than tobacco. Tobacco kills more than 8 million people every year and destroys our environment. School principal Dr. Hamilia Rani said that the production of tobacco wastes many such resources on which our existence depends. He alerted the students and said that if someone around you smokes, stop them and also tell them about the harm caused by tobacco. Continuous consumption of tobacco causes cancer. The principal madam inspired the students to remain strong in their commitment to a tobacco free life. The assembly ended with an oath taking ceremony, in which the students took an oath to never use tobacco products.
