During the meeting, Moga District City Coordinator Principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani examined the important aspects of the national education policy. While addressing, she said that in 2020 the new education policy came into existence. It aims to bring about transformative changes in the Indian education system, emphasizing holistic development, skill-based learning, and a flexible curriculum. She said the aim of the policy is to ensure quality early childhood care and education for all children between 3-6 years. The policy emphasizes the promotion of Indian languages such as mother tongue as the medium of instruction up to at least grade 5, local language and regional language up to grade 8 and beyond. According to this policy, equal and inclusive education is emphasized so that no student should be left behind socially or economically. Throughout the meeting, several principals shared their experiences, concerns and suggestions regarding the implementation of the NEP. They acknowledged the importance of aligning their schools’ curriculum with policy guidelines, promoting critical thinking skills, and facilitating experiential learning opportunities for their students. Principals also discussed challenges in terms of infrastructure needs, teacher training and curriculum restructuring. On this occasion, the principals of all the schools shed light on the problems encountered in the implementation of this new education policy. The main purpose of calling the special meeting was to consider how the new education policy can be effectively implemented in the district. Because the parents do not know much about this system and if all the schools do not bring uniformity in its implementation, differences may arise among them. On this occasion, suggestions were asked from all the principals as to how they want to implement this new education policy. By considering their suggestions, a complete framework will be prepared for the district which will help everyone implement it. On this occasion, Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini ji while shedding light on the National Education Policy said that schools need to work for the all-round development of students. It is important to prepare students for sports as well as studies. He requested the principals of all the schools to send their suggestions in writing so that a complete framework can be prepared. Devinderpal Singh Rimpi also presented his views on the National Education Policy.
