Blooming Buds School, a renowned educational institution of Moga city celebrated Dussehra festival through a special program organized under the leadership of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Madam Kamal Saini. On this occasion, articles full of information related to Dussehra were presented by the school students and various types of charts etc. related to this were presented. On this occasion, the school principal Madam Dr. Hamiliya Rani while shedding light on the history of Dussehra said that Dussehra is celebrated every year on the tenth day of the seventh month of Ashwin (Assu) according to the Hindi calendar. This festival is mainly celebrated in India and neighboring Nepal. In the southern, eastern and northeastern regions of India, this day is dedicated to Maa Durga and the Durga Puja is concluded on this day itself. The history related to this is that on this day Maa Durga killed a demon named ‘Mahishasur’ to protect religion, hence this day is also called Vijayadashami. Apart from this, in parts of North India, Central India and Western India, this day is celebrated in memory of Lord Rama, an avatar of Lord Vishnu, and the legend is popular that on this day Lord Rama killed Ravana ten-headed king of Lanka. Due to which it is also celebrated as ‘Dussehra’. Chairperson Madam Kamal Saini ji told the students that many festivals are celebrated in our country. These festivals are part of our culture. They are the identity of our culture and our religion. All these festivals give us some message like the festival of Dussehra tells us that no matter how strong evil is, one day good will end it. Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini ji told the children that Dussehra gives us a message to eliminate the evil within us. Dussehra does not mean the end of a bad person but it symbolizes the end of evil. The best way to celebrate Dussehra would be to burn the evil. Effigies of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhakaran were burnt on this occasion. All staff and students were present on this occasion.
