We should respect each religion and the festivals associated with it: Kamal Saini
Blooming Buds School, a renowned educational institution of Moga city, celebrated the festival of ‘Christmas’ with great enthusiasm and fanfare under the leadership of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini. The students dressed up as Santa Claus and danced to the song ‘Jingle Bells-Jingle Bells’ and toffees-chocolates were distributed among the students present in the assembly. During the morning assembly in the school, the students shared information related to this day through charts and articles and said that Christmas is a festival celebrated every year on December 25 in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. The 12-day festival Christmastide also begins from this day. This festival has a special significance in the Christian community. Modern Christmas holidays include giving gifts to each other, church ceremonies and various decorations. The display of these decorations includes Christmas tree, colorful lights, nativity scenes and rangoli etc. Santa Claus (also known as “Father of Christmas”) is a beloved ancient figure associated with Christmas who is often associated with bringing gifts to children at Christmas. It is celebrated on December 25 in most countries around the world. On the eve of Christmas i.e. 24th December, the celebrations related to it starts in many countries. School Principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani told the children that the Christmas tree associated with the Christmas festival is an evergreen tree, often a pine or spruce tree. The tree is decorated with lights and ornaments as a part of the Christmas festivities. They are used as interior and exterior decoration of houses or churches. Different Christian communities have different sentiments attached to the Christmas tree. Many Christian families place presents around the Christmas tree to be opened on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Meanwhile, Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini told the children that the festivals celebrated in India are a symbol of India’s unity and integrity. Festivals bring happiness in our life. India is a secular country where people of many religions live and each religion has many festivals associated with it which reflect the background and culture of those religions. We should respect each religion and its associated festivals and celebrate each festival with full joy and enthusiasm. All staff and students were present on this occasion.
