Blooming Buds School, a renowned educational institution of the local city, under the leadership of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini, celebrated Shri Guru Ravidas Jayanti. Charts and articles related to Bhagat Ravidas Ji’s life were presented by the students. While throwing light on his biography, the students said that he was born in 1377 AD in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. His birthday is celebrated on Magha Poornima. They further said that Sant Ravidas belonged to the Chamar caste. But any caste did not affect the life of Ravidas ji. He always worked above caste. Sant Ravidas was a philosopher. He taught the people to attain God by following the path of devotion. Their love for the Lord is seen in his creations. Sant Ravidas advocated equality and dignity for all irrespective of caste. He promoted gender equality and opposed the division of society based on gender or caste. On this occasion, the school principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani explained that Sant Ravidas wrote many hymns and some of them were adopted by the holy book of Sikhism, Shri Guru Granth Sahib. He was also a prominent social reformer. They worked religiously and socially to improve society and remove caste prejudices. We all should follow the teachings of Bhagat Ravidas Ji and guide our lives. She further said that such days are often celebrated in the school so that the students can know about the great saints and devotees born in India.
