Blooming Buds School Moga celebrated ‘World Heritage Day’
Blooming Buds School, a renowned educational institution of Moga city, which has created a distinct identity under the able leadership of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Madam Kamal Saini, celebrated ‘World Heritage Day’ at morning’s meeting. Meanwhile, charts and articles related to World Heritage Day were presented by Class XII Commerce students under the leadership of Class In-charge Mrs. Ritu Bansal. Presenting the article, students said that in 1982, the International Council on Monuments and Sites proposed that April 18 should be celebrated as World Heritage Day. It was later approved by UNESCO at the 22nd General Conference in 1983. It aims to increase knowledge about cultural heritage and monuments and sensitize people for their preservation. Hence, this day is also known as the International Day for Monuments and Sites. On this occasion, the school principal addressed the students and said that we should do the work of preserving our heritage. He pointedly said that on one hand we talk about preserving our heritage, on the other hand we deface many ancient buildings by writing our names on them instead of preserving the precious heritage given by our forefathers, we damage them. He informed the students about many monuments and places of India and while talking said that the main purpose of celebrating such a day in the school is to connect the students with their history and increase their knowledge. School Chairperson Madam Kamal Saini told the children that India is a vast country and Indian culture is considered to be the oldest in the world. There are many buildings like forts, palaces, caves, temples, mosques, gurudwaras, pillars, statues, inscriptions etc. are found in different corners of India. All these buildings bear witness to the Indian culture and tradition. She told the children that taking care of these buildings is not only the work of the government but it also binds the moral responsibility of all of us. They also asked the children to keep the place clean and ensure the safety of the place whenever they visit any historical place. All staff and students were present on this occasion.
