Blooming Buds School Moga celebrated National Panchayat Raj Day

Blooming Buds School, a renowned educational institution of Moga city celebrated National Panchayati Raj Day under the leadership of Group Chairman Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Madam Kamal Saini. On this occasion, during the morning assembly in the school, students presented charts related to this day and articles full of information about this day were also shared with the students. Sharing the information, they said that the National Panchayati Raj Day is celebrated on April 24 every year under the 73rd Constitutional Amendment which came into force from April 1993 although Panchayati Raj has been going on in India since ancient times. On April 24, 1993, village, intermediate and district level panchayats came into existence. The Indian Constitution recognizes Panchayats as institutions of self-governance. There are about 2.54 lakh panchayats in our country, including 2.47 lakh gram panchayats, 6283 block panchayats and 595 district panchayats. There are around 30 lakh panchayat representatives. School Principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani told the students that Panchayat is the smallest unit in the Indian democratic system.  At the level of a village, the Panchayat itself holds the responsibility of an entire government. Many small-scale civil and criminal issues are resolved at the Panchayat level. Apart from this, various village development tasks such as proper provision of drinking water, sewage disposal, education and health services and proper management is also the responsibility of the Panchayat. She further informed that on this day, panchayats with good performance are honored by giving various awards. All the staff were present on this occasion.
