Blooming Buds School, Moga, a renowned educational institution of Moga city which is running under worthy leadership of BBS Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini’s organized a “Capacity Building Program” for teaches under the direction of School principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani and CBSE Board’s Center of Excellence. The main topic of this program was ‘Strengthening Assessment and Evaluation Process’. During this seminar CBSE Resource Person Mr. Ashish Sahni, Principal Bal Bharti Public School, Ludhiana and Ms. Sunita Kumari, Principal H.V.M. Convent School, Ludhiana informed the school staff about National Education Policy, Health and Physical Education, new grading system in detail. Sharing information about this, they explained how the assessment and evaluation practice of students’ performance can be made transparent and strong. During the training, they explained how to prepare the question papers and how to prepare their marking scheme. They briefed the staff about the new grading scheme and the key points to keep in mind while assessing the assignments given to students in different subjects in any class. They said that mainly it is necessary to see that the student has done 100 percent of the given assessment, the student has completed the assignment in the given time, the level of information used by student related to the topic of the assignment. The type of material used in the assignment matches the student’s class standards. Apart from this, they said that students should try to make learning interesting by using stories, examples, visuals and examples from the surrounding life while teaching. Resource Person Ms. Sunita Kumari said that any work done by the student should not be ignored and as far as possible the performance of the students should be properly evaluated so that the students can be motivated to work harder. Various activities were also conducted during this seminar. In which teachers participated and increased their knowledge and learned how the level of assessment and evaluation of students can be raised. On this occasion, the school principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani while appreciating this initiative taken by the C.O.E. cell of CBSE Board, said that the teachers will be able to strengthen their assessment and evaluation process due to the knowledge gained from this seminar.
