Blooming Buds Senior Secondary School Village Chandnawan, Part of BBS Group of Schools, a renowned, progressive and prestigious educational institution of District Moga, running under the able patronage of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini celebrated the festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami with great fanfare. On this occasion, Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini shed light on the life of Shri Krishna. He told that the festival of Janmashtami is the birthday of Lord Shri Krishna. This festival is celebrated all over the world with full faith and devotion. Janamashtami is celebrated not only in India but also abroad with great faith and joy. The festival of Janamashtami is celebrated on the Ashtami day of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadon after Raksha Bandhan. Shri Krishna was the eighth son of Devaki and Vasudev. King Kansa of Mathura city, who was a very tyrannical king, the people of Mathura were fed up with his atrocities. At one time Akashvani realized that the eighth son of his sister Devaki would kill him. On hearing this, Kansa imprisoned his sister Devaki and her husband Vasudeva in a dungeon. Fearing his own death, Kansa killed the seven children of his sister Devaki. As soon as Krishna was born as the eighth child from the womb of the goddess, the doors of the cell opened automatically and the shackles of his feet were also broken. According to the order of Lord Vishnu, Vasudeva crossed the Yamuna and kept Sri Krishna in a basket and went to Gokul and there left Sri Krishna at the house of Mother Yashoda. On this occasion, the school students presented songs and dances related to the life of Shri Krishna. The school students performed songs and dances of Chhoti Choti Gaiya Chote Chote Baal, Chatti Chhon Madani Le Gaya and Aaj Radha Ko Sham Yad Aa gaya. The little children dressed up as Shri Krishna were playing a lot. On this occasion, the school principal Mrs.  Anjana Rani and all the staff were present. On this occasion, a Chati decoration competition was organized, in which Navdeep Kaur of class X got the first place. Harmandeep Kaur Class VIII won the second position and Sahajpreet Kaur Class VIII secured the third position.
