
Blooming Buds School Moga remembers Molana Abul Kalam Azad on ‘National Education Day’
Blooming Buds School, a renowned educational institution of Moga, under the leadership of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini celebrated National Education Day during a special meeting. While celebrating this special day, students made beautiful charts and remembered Molana Abul Kalam Azad. The students presented the article and said that National Education Day is celebrated on November 11 every year in India. This day marks the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Bharat Ratna, India’s first education minister. The Ministry of Human Resource Development sets a different theme for the National Education Day every year. This year 2024 theme inclusive, high-quality education will be the focus of National Education Day 2024. They said the theme promotes quality education, which adequately equips individuals with the skills and knowledge needed in a developing world. Sharing information about Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, they said that he belonged to a dynasty of Afghan Ulemas. He was born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Social worker and freedom fighter Maulana Abul Kalam did a lot to transform India’s education policy into a higher education policy. Maulana Abul Kalam, who joined India’s freedom struggle after being influenced by Mahatma Gandhi’s ideas, was a staunch opponent of the partition of independent India. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad made a great contribution to education policy and nation building in India. That is why Abul Kalam’s birth anniversary is celebrated on November 11 as National Education Day. During this, while increasing the knowledge of the students, the principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani said that Maulana Abul Kalam Azad served the country from 1947 to 1958 as Minister of Education in the cabinet of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He was a reformer and freedom fighter. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was not only a scholar but also committed to nation building through education. He advocated the right to free education for children up to 14 years of age. Their vision was to eradicate illiteracy by supporting primary education and girls’ education. His most important achievement in the field of education was the establishment of the first IIT in 1951. And in 1953, the University Grants Commission was established. Therefore, to honor his contribution in the field of education, the Ministry of Human Resource Development has decided to celebrate his birthday as National Education Day on September 11. Since 2008, National Education Day is celebrated without declaring it as a holiday.
