Blooming Buds School conducted a mock drill on ‘Earthquake Rescue’

Blooming Buds School, the renowned educational institution of Moga city running under the able leadership of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini, remains a leader in every field. In this institution, ‘Earthquick and Evacuation Drill’ was conducted today by the District Administration in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority. The purpose of the drill was to teach the school students and staff about rescue and disaster management in the event of an earthquake and to assess the preparedness of the administration in case of an emergency. During this drill honourable SDM Moga Mr. Sarangpreet Singh, Area Head of NDRF Mr. D. L. Jakhar, DSP Jora Singh, Officer of District Disaster Management Authority Sh. Ram Chander along with heads of various departments of the district and their nodal officers participated in this drill. Sharing information about this drill the school principal, Dr. Hamiliya Rani said that today at 1:03 pm, the school sounded emergency hooter about the earthquake and the students first did the ‘Drop, Cover and Hold’ activity and after that all the students were taken to a safe place away from the school building. The school staff also participated fully in this drill. During this drill, it was to be shown how the police and NDRF teams rescued the trapped people, so 10 students who were depicted as injured already placed in different parts of the school were safely evacuated by the NDRF persons through various drills. Apart from this, an information post, command post, communication post and medical post were also established by NDRF. The trapped students were taken out by ambulance to the medical post. The drill was completed at 02:00 pm.  After this, a meeting was held with the heads of all the departments and their nodal officers in which feedback regarding this drill was taken and suggestions were taken from each department. School Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini thanked the NDRF team, municipal fire brigade department, health department and police department officials and employees who arrived for the mock drill. Mr. Sarangpreet Singh S.D.M. Moga said that all the departments took timely action and performed their respective duties to save the people and rectify the situation. All kinds of equipment and tools, which are required in an emergency situation, were used in this drill. People were given information about what methods were used to deal with this situation. Overall, this mock drill was very successful and educational. For this successful drill, BBS Group Chairman, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini, Chairperson Mrs. Kamal, Principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani, School Nodal Officer Mr. Rahul Chhabra and the efforts of the school staff were appreciated. He also said that the district administration is always ready to face any emergency situation. In the end, the school administration honored the eminent personalities who arrived at this mock drill by giving them guest of  honour.
