6th Gian Khadag Convention held at Moga, revealed information about ‘Education Roadmap’

The 6th Gian Khadag Convention was organized at Moga by the Private Unaided Schools Association of District Moga. In which famous Punjabi film industry actor Hobi Dhaliwal, famous film maker Pushwinder Singh Sarao participated as chief guests. President of Federation of Private Schools and Association of Punjab S. Jagjit Singh Dhuri attended this convention as the main speaker. All these personalities were welcomed with bouquets of flowers by the Moga core committee. Convener of FAP Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini ji while giving information about Gian Khadag said that this Gian Khadag which will go to every district of Punjab to give information about the roadmap prepared for the education of Punjab. It started from the first Gian Khadag Convention at Patiala and then passed through Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Barnala and Bathinda and has reached Moga today. This Gian Khadag brought to Moga by Dr. Charanjit Kaur Dhillon and Jai Singh Brar members of the core committee of Bathinda. It was warmly welcomed by the Moga Core Committee. Management members, principals and co-ordinators of all the private schools of Moga district participated in this convention. Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri, arrived as the main speaker of this convention told everyone that under this Gian Khadag, the roadmap for education of Punjab has been prepared, the main objective of which is to connect all the schools of Punjab with one philosophy, one policy and one action plan. Starting with the new education policy, he said that the foundation stage of all schools should be one. According to the government, the age of the student in the first class has been fixed at 6 years and before that the student has to go through the foundation stage for 3 years. Now every school across Punjab has prepared the foundation stage according to their own. Many schools are conducting nursery, LKG and UKG and many are conducting the first class directly after Prep-1 and Prep-2, so there is a need to bring uniformity at this foundation stage. After this he also mentioned on the diversity of language that in the new education policy it is necessary to teach three languages ​​to the students: firstly the mother tongue, secondly the official language of the country and thirdly the global language. Now many states have not expressed their consent on this subject. But many schools in Punjab are already teaching three languages. Regarding the science lab and library built in those schools, he said that it is also very important to give practical education to the students. In schools, it is necessary to have compulsory period of library and science lab for practical education to inculcate the habit of reading among students. He asked to encourage the students for sports and especially he expressed concern about the students migrating from Punjab and he said that the students should be made aware of generating means of earning along with education to become self-reliant. He further addressed about the problems faced by the schools and their solutions and said that many cases were filed by the Federation in the High Court against the policies of the government, in which the decisions of many cases were in favor of the schools and got a stay. As Earlier RTE  affiliation was given temporary. Many districts used to recognize it for 1 year or some districts for 3 years. But after making the case, the decision came in favor of the schools that every school should now have permanent RTE Affiliation. He also inquired about the FAP Award that is going to be held in November and gave detailed information about each category that this award will now be a two-day event at the national level in which schools in different categories will be recognized by their principals, teachers and good performers. Academic and sports awards will be given to the students. Finally, the chief guest from the Moga district core committee, member of the Bathinda core committee, and the main speaker President Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri was honored with a shawl and a badge of honour. Along with this, the chairman and principals of the schools were also honored by the Moga committee. On this occasion, Senior Vice President Devinderpal Singh Rimpi ji thanked all the chief guests, President Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri and the chairman and principals of the visiting schools and said that all the schools in Moga district will follow this new roadmap and will be committed to take education to new heights.
