Blooming Buds Senior Secondary School, Village-Chandnawan is a part of BBS Group of Schools, a reputed educational institution of District Moga, which is running under the able patronage of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini. In the school campus festival of Diwali was celebrated with great fanfare. On this occasion, a special prayer meeting was organized at the school campus. Very beautiful charts related to this day were made by the students. A rangoli competition was organized between the houses. The students of the school decorated their classrooms in a very beautiful manner. While talking on the occasion, group chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and the chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini told that Diwali which is also known as Deepavali is a joyous festival celebrated by millions across the world, mainly by Hindus. The word Diwali is derived from the Sanskrit word Deepavali, which means a row of lights. This festival is a string of lights over darkness. The festival symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil, making it one of the most important and beloved festivals in the Hindu calendar. The historical and religious significance of Diwali varies among different regions and communities of India. One of the most common stories associated with Diwali is the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after defeating Ravana. Giving birth to the tradition of lighting lamps on Diwali, the people of Ayodhya celebrated their return by lighting lamps and decorating the city. In South India, the festival of Diwali is celebrated to honor Lord Krishna’s victory over Narakasura. In Sikhism, Diwali is celebrated as Bandi Chod Diwas, commemorating the release of Guru Hargobind Ji from imprisonment. Jain also celebrate Diwali because it signifies the attainment of Nirvana or spiritual awakening of Lord Mahavir. Head teacher Madam Anjana Rani told that Diwali is generally a five-day festival, each day having its own significance. Celebrations often begin with the cleaning and decoration of homes and workplaces: Dhanteras, Naraka Chaturdashi, Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj. Diwali is not just a festival, said Madam Raman Sharma, Jasveer Kaur and Balveer Kaur: it A celebration of life, love and the triumph of good over evil. It brings people together from diverse backgrounds and communities with a sense of joy and unity. The traditions and customs of the festival vary, but the basic essence remains the same: the spreading of light and joy. Diwali is a time for reflection, renewal and strengthening bonds with family and friends, making it a truly special and beloved festival in India. The winning teams in the Rangoli competition and lamp decorating competition will be felicitated by the school management. On the occasion, BBS Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini congratulated all the staff by giving Diwali gifts.
