Blooming Buds School Celebrated National Women’s Day on the occasion of Sarojini Naidu’s Birth Anniversary

Under the leadership of Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini, National Women’s Day was celebrated in commemoration of the birth anniversary of Sarojini Naidu, popularly known as the Nightingale of India. On this occasion, the students presented charts and articles related to the life of Sarojini Naidu. In which she stated that she was a poet and a supporter of civil rights. She also played an important role in India’s independence from British rule. She was born on 13 February 1879 in a Bengali Brahmin family in Hyderabad. She is famous for her literary achievements. Her literary works include The Bird of Time, Songs of Love, Death and Spring, etc. Sarojini Naidu died on 2 March 1949 at Lucknow. She further said that National Women’s Day is a celebration of Sarojini Naidu’s unparalleled contribution to establishing women’s rights in the male-dominated Indian society. In 1925, she became the first woman to lead the Indian National Congress party as president. Naidu was an integral part of the satyagraha movement launched by Mahatma Gandhi Ji. She was also part of the Quit India movement launched against the British rule in India. She took several important steps to strengthen women’s rights that sought to promote gender equality. School Principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani told that every day an assembly is organized by the students on some important topic in the school so that they can get to know the great personalities of the country and increase their knowledge.
