Blooming Buds School hosted a Seminar about ‘Values Education’ organized by CBSE
Blooming Buds School, Moga, a renowned educational institution of Moga city, Under able patronage of group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Madam Kamal Saini’s hosted a seminar organized under the Capacity Building Program by the COE Cell of CBSE. The main agenda of this seminar was ‘Values Education’ During this seminar CBSC Resource person Dr. Seema Tanwar, Counselor, Army Public School, Ambala Cantt., and Mr. Sukhdev Singh Principal D.A.V. Public School, Abohar provided detailed information about ‘Values Education’. Sharing information about this, they said that the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi has developed a new curriculum to innovate in the field of values education to inculcate in our youth, the core values that are universally observed in all cultures. There is an effort to develop Key features of this curriculum such as: a positive and caring school environment, moral education, social-emotional education, positive youth development, civic education, and service learning. The curriculum not only upholds values, but also encourages students to strive for excellence. The core purpose of the Values Education curriculum is to provide children with a safe space to express themselves, engage in some form of interaction, have a role of “moral authority” and listen to each other with empathy, coherently and constructively. Pushing the limits of the learner’s understanding, providing an environment of trust, making the classroom a safe place where children can share experiences, where struggle is accepted. CBSE has also clarified in the “Values Education” handbook that core human values are the touchstones that express our common humanity despite economic, social, intellectual and cultural differences. During this seminar, teachers were explained about ‘Values Education’ by conducting various activities. So that by learning from this seminar, the teachers can communicate the value education within the students by giving it an active form in their classroom. On this occasion, the school principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani while appreciating the initiative taken by the COE Cell of CBSE Board, said that there is no doubt that the ‘Values Education’ curriculum will bring a new consciousness and revolution in the field of education.
