Blooming Buds School students compete in ‘Open District Badminton Championship’
All players qualified for state level competitions - Principal
Blooming Buds School, a renowned educational institution of Moga city, under the able leadership of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Madam Kamal Saini has been continuously performing excellently in the field of education as well as sports. Under the same streak, once again the badminton players of Blooming Buds School have brightened the school’s name in the Open District Badminton Championship. In this championship organized by the District Badminton Association, the players won the positions under different age categories and sports categories and gave glory to the name of Blooming Buds School. These words were expressed by the school principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani. School Principal Dr. Hamiliya Rani honored the students by giving trophies. He further informed that the championship was held at Olympian Balbir Singh Indoor Stadium, Town Hall, Moga on 16-17 July. Students from different schools and different academies from all over Moga district participated in this championship. Badminton Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 age group singles, doubles and mixed doubles competitions were held in the championship. In these competitions, Jennifer, a fourth class student of the school, won first place in under-15 singles, mixed doubles and doubles, playing with 12th class Arshdeep Kaur, and second place in under-19 doubles. Jashandeep Singh of Class 10 won second place in Under-17 Singles and Doubles events and first place in Under-19 Singles and Doubles events. Abhinandan of class 7th bagged first position in under-15 singles, second position in doubles and mixed doubles. Along with this, Navjot Singh of 11th Non-Medical won first place in Under-17 mixed doubles and second place in doubles competition. District Badminton Association honored the winning players by giving trophies. On reaching the school, all these players were felicitated during the morning assembly. School Chairperson Madam Kamal Saini ji appreciated the achievement of the winning players and school badminton coach Punjab Masih was also congratulated. She said that international level indoor badminton courts have been provided in the school to make the students aware of sports. She also informed that these students will go to Samrala to participate in the state level competitions going to held from July 24 to 27.
