Chand Nawan Blooming Buds Senior Secondary School, is a part of BBS Group of Schools, a renowned and respected educational institution of District Moga, which is running under the patronage of Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini and Chairperson Mrs. Kamal Saini. The festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with great pomp at school campus. Group Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Saini specially attended on this occasion. On this special day, he brought to light the life of Shri Krishna. He told that the festival of Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Sri Krishna. This festival is celebrated all over the world with full faith and devotion. Janmashtami is celebrated not only in India but also abroad with great faith and gaiety. The festival of Janmashtami is celebrated on the Ashtami day of Krishna Paksha after Raksha Bandhan. Sri Krishna was the eighth son of Devaki and Vasudeva. The king of Mathura city was Kansa who was a very tyrannical king, the people of Mathura were fed up with his atrocities. At one time Akashwani had a dream that her sister Devaki’s eighth son would kill him. On hearing this, Kansa imprisoned his sister Devaki and her husband Vasudeva in a dungeon. Fearing his own death, Kansa killed the first seven children of his sister Devaki. As soon as Krishna was born as the eighth child from the womb of the goddess, the doors of the cell opened automatically and the shackles of his feet were also broken. As per the order of Lord Vishnu, Vasudeva crossed the sea and put Sri Krishna in a basket and proceeded to Gokul and there left Sri Krishna at the home of Mother Yashoda. On this occasion, songs and dances related to Shri Krishan Ji’s life were presented by the school students, charts related to Janmashtami were made by the school students. The ritual of indulging Shri Krishna was also performed. The students of Kindergarten section presented a beautiful dance on Mayya Yashoda song. On this occasion, the school principal and all the school staff were present.
